GEOTECHNICAL DRILLING INVESTIGATION FOR THE UPGRADING OF NATIONAL ROUTE 2 SECTIONS 30, 31 AND 32 FROM KANGELA (N2/30 KM 14) TO PONGOLA (N2/32 KM 29.4)
TENDER NOTICE AND INVITATION TO TENDER (Incorporating SBD1)
The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders for the preliminary geotechnical drilling investigation of bridge structures for the proposed upgrading of Natioanl Route 2 Sections 30, 31 ans 32 from Kangela (N2/30 Km 14) to Pongola (N2/32 Km 29.4). This project is in the province of KwaZulu-Natal and in the district municipalities of uMkhanyakude (southern end) and Zululand (northern end). The approximate duration is thirty-five calender days for the site investigation.
Only tenders with a B-BBEE contributor status level of 1, 2, 3 or 4 are eligible to tender.
Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data.
Tender documents are available at no cost in electronic format on CD. Tenderers must have access to MS Office 2007 and Acrobat Adobe 9.0, or similar compatible software.
The physical address for collection of tender documents is SANRAL Eastern region, 58 Van Eck Place, Mkondeni, Pietermaritzburg, where documents may be collected during the hours 09h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday), from Monday 04th December 2017.
A compulsory tender clarification meeting with representatives of SANRAL will take place on Thursday, 11th January 2018 starting at 09h00. Tenderers must meet the Client’s representative outside the Wimpy at the Engen Pongola 1-Stop (GPS 27°22’43” S, 31°36’57” E). Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate in the meeting and their submissions shall be declared non-responsive.
The tender clarification meeting will take the form of drive-over inspection along the route, with brief stop-overs at bridge drilling sites. Provision has only been made for a one-day site inspection, which due to the length of the project and number of drilling sites will only allow brief stops at each drilling site. The onus rests with Tenderers to fully familiarise themselves with the sites and the drilling conditions. Should more thorough inspections be deemed necessary Tenderers must make provision to do so in their own time.
COMPLETION AND DELIVERY OF TENDERS
The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14h00 on Friday 25th January 2018.
Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, email, facsimile, late tenders and submissions from tenderers who arrived late at the tender clarification meeting will not be accepted.
Tenders may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Tender Data.
